Is it possible to burn fat without exercising? It is but you may be surprised how to accomplish it. It doesn't involve those gimmicks that you see on TV such as the vibrating gadget that supposedly burns tummy fat while sitting on your rump and watching TV. In fact, it's related to the types of foods that you eat and when you eat them. Here are some tips to help you lose weight and pounds without lifting a finger (well, you may need a fork):
Tip 1: Drink more water
Did you know that water is the only natural food that has zero calories? Yes, it's true! Health experts debate about whether we actually need 6-8 glasses of water per day. The reason is that many foods contain water in them, so that could reduce the amount of drinking water that we need to consume

However, it doesn't hurt to follow the "6-8 glasses" rule per day. The wonderful thing about water is that it makes you feel satisfied, so you'll be less prone to snack on candy bars, chips, or whatever other "comfort food" is your weakness. Also, if you're exercising while dieting then you'll need to replace the fluids that your body loses during the process. So a 6-8 glass is the bare minimum amount that you'll need!
Tip 2: Eat more fruits and veggies
Of course, there are the obvious health benefits of eating more fruits and vegetables. They provide us with the vitamins, minerals, and enzymes that we need. What we learned in our elementary school health class was right: the "food pyramid" basically supplies us with all the nutrition that we need daily.
However, did you know that certain fruits and vegetables have a net negative calorie value? Of course, all foods have at least one calorie. However, our bodies spend more calories digesting particular fruits and vegetables than the foods themselves contain. Some examples of "negative calorie" fruits include: apples, grapefruit, lemons, mangos, oranges, pineapple, and strawberries.
Meanwhile, examples of "negative calorie" veggies include: celery, cucumber, garlic, lettuce, onions, spinach, and turnips.
Tip 3: Eat "good" fats instead of "bad" fats
The mass media machine has trained us to believe that all fats are unhealthy. That simply isn't true! And substituting fats with manmade chemicals can actually cause our bodies to store fat as a response, and thus actually increase our weights.
The "bad" fats include "saturated fats," which mainly originate from animal products (i.e. meat, eggs, dairy), and some plant foods (i.e. palm oil and coconut oil); and "trans fats," or hydrogenated fats, which tend to be present in vegetable shortening, microwave popcorn, and French fries.
Tip 4: Reduce your salt and sugar intake
The biggest culprits of today's unhealthy diets are fast-food chains and junk food. Besides "bad" saturated and hydrogenated fats, these foods are also loaded with salt and sugar. Interestingly, adding characteristics such as color and heat can make such foods extra appealing-and extra hard to resist!
Try substituting high-sugar and high-salt foods with alternatives. Fruits are naturally sweet. Meanwhile, foods such as almonds, roasted sunflower seeds, popcorn, and pretzels (all lightly salted) can help to satisfy your salt cravings.
